Chicago Bears - NFC Champions

The Chicago Bears are going to the Super Bowl! I was 14 yrs old the last time they did that. And it looks like they may be facing the same team.

Although I am a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan, I have learned over the years to hold back really getting my expectations up when the teams start doing well. It has happened all too often that you get your heart set on them going to the final game and they come up short like the Cubs in '84, '89, and especially '03 or the Bears in '84, '86, '87, '88, '90, '91, '95, '01, and '05. So it came as much as a relief as a joy to see the victory and advancement to the Super Bowl become a reality as the fourth quarter wore on and the team pulled ahead.

Time to enjoy this accomplishment then look forward to the big game in two weeks.

I know what you mean about getting your hopes up. It's like everyone telling you that things look really good for you to get that job, and then the executive destroys you, and you are left with absolutely no income, and...wait, what were we talking about again?

Keep the faith!
I was confident that our Bears would do wellsince that game with Seattle. Of course, it takes a lot of balls bouncing the right way too but they had the foundation to make a run for it. AND WE MADE IT!!
I think we can be Superbowl Champions with this defense and a steady offense as was the case yesterday.

It will be a day I will always remember. The snow just added to the mystic atmosphere. We looked up at the dark sky and the snow lit by the stadium lights towards the end of the game made it a surreal experience. Younger, you were there with us in our hearts.

Now it's on to Miami!

GO BEARS!
The elder one.

JP, it's that comparison exactly why I'm less emotionally involved these days. There are other aspects of life to invest that into. Games should be enjoyed and not a source of stress. Again, I hope things turn around for you.

The elder, I still have the faith and likely always will. It's the luck element that can make games stressful and exciting. No matter how good the team, something could happen. Like a ball being mistakenly snatched out of a players glove by a loyal fan. Anything can happen. That said, the games are fun to watch and I'll be glued to the set. This doesn't happen often.

Sorry, Matthew. I still haven't come across a 'Chicago' bar if there is one here. Actually I have't seen any 'American' bars either. But then again, I don't get out much anymore. If anyone tells me of one, I'll let you know. Otherwise, I'll be here at home enjoying it on our monster 19" TV.
